Brainwashed 03:05
Things are gettin tough out there, it seems like evil’s on the rise Don’t know who to trust out there, it could be just another lie But one man’s trash is another one’s newsfeed And in times like these, it’s the last thing that we need I’m sure the secret government just wants us all confused ‘Bout vaccinations, UFOs, and landin’ on the moon False flags and chemical lags keep us from thinkin’ for ourselves And if you agree, then buddy you might need some help Brainwashing everybody into thinkin’ everybody else is brainwashed Brainwashing everybody into thinkin’ everybody else is brainwashed There’s just so many of the devil makes ya wonder when he’ll ever get caught Brainwashing everybody into thinkin’ everybody else is brainwashed The Illuminati masterminds that can control my every move Don’t want me believing things that you don’t have to prove Or maybe it’s the truth the truth just ain’t the truth anymore They might win the fight, but they sure ain’t won the war Brainwashing everybody into thinkin’ everybody else is brainwashed Because we all keep losing track, you try to stop it but you can’t, the train’s lost There’s just so many of the devil makes ya wonder when he’ll ever get caught Brainwashing everybody into thinkin’ everybody else is brainwashed How can I find a way to say what’s on my mind When I’m so overwhelmed, it’s got me shakin’ half the time? You tell me I can’t trust what I can see with my own eyes I know you’re Jonesin’ for another Rush so let me spell it out in black and white Don’t you know that everybody, everybody’s just a cuttin’ from the same cloth And we’re all jumping off the track, you try to stop it but you can’t, the train’s lost There’s just so many of the devil makes me wonder when he’ll ever get caught Brainwashing everybody into thinkin’ everybody else is brainwashed Brainwashing everybody into thinkin’ everybody else is brainwashed Brainwashing everybody into thinkin’ everybody else is brainwashed Brainwashing everybody into thinkin’ everybody else is brainwashed Brainwashing everybody into thinkin’ everybody else is brainwashed

They want to start another war, I heard it on the news. A preacher man Republican says he knows what to do. He’s wonderin’ if we’re livin’ like the Bible tells us to So I got around to thinkin’, and it’s got me feelin’ blue Send your tired, sick, and poor a “thoughts and prayers” or two Love thy neighbor as thyself, long as he looks like you Desperately clingin’ on to what they hold so true, But they hear not what they speak, and they know not what they do. Ahhhh, “Hallelujah” they’ll be singin’ Ahhhh, blinded by the light Ahhhh, I can hear the church bells ringin’. But if you look inside you’ll find that something isn’t right. They’ll stop to help the hungry beggar find his own boot straps They’ll give up half a Saturday just to melt the old ice caps By nine o’clock on Sunday they’ll be smilin’ in the pew For they hear not what they speak, oh Lord, and they know not what they do. Ahhhh, “Hallelujah” they’ll be singin’ Ahhhh, blinded by the light . Ahhhh, I can hear the church bells ringin’ But if you look inside you’ll find that something isn’t right. Forgive me if I’m questioning this holy life you lead 'Least you can tell I’ll go to hell for failing to believe I hope, if there’s a God above, he can forgive you too For you hear not what you speak, my friend, and you know not what you do. Ahhhh, “Hallelujah” they’ll be singin’ Ahhhh, blinded by the light. Ahhhh, those bells keep ding-a-lingin’ But if you look inside you’ll find that something isn’t right. Ahhhh, “The Lord is gonna save us” Ahhhh, we’re basking in the Truth. But Ahhhh, all these sinners keep on sinnin’ For we hear not what we speak, my friends, and we know not what we do. What we’re sowing we will reap, my friends, 'cuz we know not what we do. No we don’t practice what we preach, my friends, and I don’t know what to do.

Fake News 04:09
I woke up this morning, and I turned on the tube He said they were telling us lies And it occurred to me then, as I sat in my room, He was sayin' what I'd been tryin' to verbalize 'Cuz It seems things are getting just a little out of hand It feels like I keep losing ground But now I’ve got a new trick, anyone can understand Guaranteed to turn this train right back around It's Fake News It ain’t true That’s lies they tell to justify their views That’s just a trick they use When they got nothin' left to lose Go ‘head, believe it if you choose But it’s Fake News Verse 2 (in 3) Well this got me thinkin’, and I’m sure you’ve surmised That the old talking points are all stale But just like old Lincoln never could tell a lie, With this technique you never can fail When the battle seems lost, and you’re ‘bout out of fight And the arguin’ and yellin’s got you hoarse When the evidence is mounting and the logic’s gettin’ tight You can get to questionin’ the source It's Fake News It ain’t true It’s not even close enough for horseshoes That’s just a trick they use When they got nothin' left to lose Go ‘head, believe it if you choose But it’s Fake News I had an appointment just this afternoon The doctors they ran all their tests And I sat there a-waiting in a cold waiting room Just to hear what these old sawbones suggest Well they called out my name, and they all did agree There were ailments they should attend to At first I was shocked, but soon felt relieved When I remembered what I needed to do It's Fake News It ain’t true But it’s not your fault if you feel a bit confused See, that’s just a trick they use When they got nothin' left to lose Go ‘head, believe it if you choose But it’s Fake News Verse 4 (in 3) But now that I’m armed with Fake News up my sleeve I’ve been feeling increasingly perplexed I’m never quite sure what I can believe And it seems it’s leaving me a bit distressed So I sat right down on my kitchen floor and cried Contradictions bouncing ‘round in my head With tears in my eyes, feelin’ paralyzed I started thinkin’ maybe I’ve been misled So I zipped up my coat, and put on my fake shoes And took a long walk ‘round the lake Everything I do's starting to look like Fake News And the news just isn’t sounding so fake Nah, it’s Fake News It ain’t true I almost did just what they wanted me to do You got two sides to choose And it ain’t hard to deduce If it disagrees with you It’s Fake News It ain’t true That's lies they tell just to justify their views It’s just a trick they use When they got nothin left to lose Go ‘head, believe it if you choose But it’s Fake News Oh, it’s what those lefties do When they got nothin left to lose Go ‘head, believe it if it's true, But it’s Fake News

Forty long years we’ve been wandering Cursed to roam the forest as a penance for a sin We learned back then to keep ourselves from wondering If the man upstairs was right to send us in Walked around the city same as yesterday ‘Cept this time we went six more times around Never guessed we’d get right in and win so easily But I’ll be damned, those walls came tumblin’ down Oh, there’s trouble down in Jericho Don’t you know that we could use a helping hand Yeah you can ask, no one seems to answer though Feelin’ all alone in the broken promised land We thought nineteen forty three might be the worst of times Felt just like the wits of the world was at its end But prejudice passed down like it’s a nursery rhyme When it comes around, you’re right back where you been Oh, there’s trouble down in Jericho Don’t you know that we could use a helping hand Yeah you can ask, no one seems to answer though Feelin’ all alone in the broken promised land Walked around the city same as yesterday ‘Cept this time it just didn’t feel the same Everybody’s yellin’ hopin’ something’s gonna give But the walls keep gettin’ taller every day Oh, there’s trouble down in Jericho Don’t you know that we could use a helping hand Yeah you can ask, no one seems to answer though Feelin’ all alone in the broken promised land Well lately I’ve had questions about everything Don’t take it wrong 'cuz I just wanna know If there’s some knowing, loving, God that can do anything How could he just let us suffer down below While we’re walkin’ down the walls of Jericho? Walkin’ down the walls of Jericho

I don’t recognize the sideways we have run It’s too far gone and steerin’ right into the sun And I don’t recognize myself behind a gun But heaven knows, I won’t be leavin’ empty Pulled asunder, What are you fighting for? What are you fighting for today? Bad blood’s pumpin’ like a protozoan sin It’s eatin’ up my mind, I feel it squirmin’ in my skin Back down, write it off, forgive it or forget But heaven knows the blight’ll only fester Pulled asunder, What are you fighting for? What are you fighting for today? Oh brother, We’ve won these rights before What are you fighting for anyway? They told us tales of civilization And they told us we would be alright But I’ve been thinkin’ on how the lesson’s overturned If it can’t echo out in each and every mind I think we been Pulled asunder, What are you fighting for? What are you fighting for today? Oh my sister, We’ve won these rights before What are you fighting for anyway? Pulled asunder, So much for civil war... What are you fighting for today? Pulled asunder, What are you fighting for? What are you fighting for anyway? I don’t recognize the sideways we have run Too fucked up and steerin’ right into the sun And I don’t recognize myself behind a gun But heaven knows, it’s got me feelin’ empty

You might say the west is won, But I can’t see us coming out together An ancient word, the starting gun By the time you hear it, it’s already a long way gone Shotgun evolution lookin’ for a natural fit Been diggin’ down deep for years and I’m just try’n to find something that sticks ‘Cuz I been a Long way gone Long way gone Long way gone and I’m goin’ A second hand, second scene If it falls apart, you put it back together I learned it on my own time I was seventeen You go down like acetone, but you can bet you’re gonna come up clean Last night I was wheezin’ and coughin’ I was having a fit I can handle some things for years but I been gettin’ tired of the same old shit Oh I been a Long way gone Long way gone Long way gone and I’m goin’ Where’s the line with navigation When keepin' to the track is takin’ everything you can do? The wasted time’s there for the taking Then it’s a Long way gone Long way gone Long way gone and I’m goin’ You might say the west is one, But I can’t see us coming out together Like an ancient way, the starting gun By the time you hear it...

November, the year of our Lord Two thousand sixteen We the people have to make a choice. But this one’s shapin’ up to be Like nothin’ we have seen. And everyone is lifting up their voice. Both sides feel it’s either win Or face the end of days. The consequence is sure to be severe. I tell you I’ve tried thinkin’ in A million different ways And the choice, it seems to me, is pretty clear. January, year of our Lord Two thousand seventeen Righteousness and honor have prevailed But something’s in a headline Almost every single day And it seems like everyone wants him in jail. I know he’s an acquired taste, That much is evident. That doesn’t mean you have to be unfair. That’s right I heard you talkin smack About the president But there’s one more argument I’d like to share... But what about the emails? Don’t you think that was bad? I hope you don’t mind me askin’ ‘Cuz it sure makes me sad. And what about Benghazi? Do you think they’ll indict? Don’t know exactly what happened But I know it ain’t right. I guess it really took a turn for the worse In the year of our Lord. When the hauled him off and read them all his rights He only cried a little bit But all my tears were poured. 'Cuz they locked him up just for being white. Oh, and three counts of conspiracy And eleven counts of fraud. As if that wasn’t all that it would take, The two counts of obstruction And the nineteen of assault Were really just the icing on the cake. But what about the emails? Don’t you think that was bad? Hope you don’t mind me askin’ ‘Cuz it sure makes me sad. And that staffer she murdered You think that was her first? I know he isn’t perfect, But she woulda been worse.. Well now that it’s been a year Since they locked him up behind bars I’ll admit the change in tone has been pronounced. I guess President Pelosi Isn’t doin’ all that bad, considering She signed up as Speaker of The House. In the damp and dusty corridors Of the penitentiary The Warden took a walk around the cells. Old Donald flagged him down and begged If someone set him free It's a lifetime of free stays at his motels (quid pro quo). The Warden slowly turned his head And politely he refused And Donald said, “But I’ve been treated wrong”. The Warden let a chuckle go For he was mildly amused When Donald started singing him this song: But what about the emails? Don’t you think that was bad? Hope you don’t mind me askin’ ‘Cuz it sure makes me sad. And what about Benghazi? Do you think they’ll indict? I couldn’t tell you what happened. But I know it ain’t right. What about our country? The U. S. of A? The land of the free and The home of the brave? Yes, what about America? The stars and the stripes? Don’t know exactly what’s happenin’ But I know it ain’t right.
